Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new adapter that will let PlayStation VR2 owners to directly connect the VR headset to play PC games.
The new hardware adapter for PlayStation VR2 is set to launch on August 7th for $59.99, and will let players enjoy VR games on PC (via SteamVR). The new move comes months after Sony surprisingly announced PC support for the device.
Sony noted that since PlayStation VR2 was designed for PlayStation 5 some features like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), are not available when playing on PC.
Other features are supported though, including: 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and see-through view, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D Audio.
Lastly, PS VR2 owners will need a standard DisplayPort cable (sold separately) that is compatible with DisplayPort 1.4, as well as a PC that meets the below specs:
